1. Who we are
Rwanda Freedom of Speech is an independent initiative founded by John B. Simbaburanga. It promotes truth, peaceful dialogue, public awareness, fundamental rights and freedom of speech. It is not presented as a government institution.

2. Scope
This policy explains how information may be processed when you visit the public website, contact us by email, use translation or embedded-media features, or follow links to external services.
3. Information you provide
The website does not currently offer visitor accounts, public comments or an online contact form. If you contact us by email or through an external social-media service, we may receive your name, contact details, message and any information you choose to provide.
Please do not send passwords, PINs, security codes, identity documents or other highly sensitive information by ordinary email.
4. How we use correspondence
- To respond to enquiries, feedback, correction requests or support messages.
- To protect the website and investigate misuse or security concerns.
- To keep reasonable records and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information provided through correspondence.
5. Hosting, security and technical data
The website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical and security information needed to serve and protect the website, such as IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, request times and security events.
6. Website analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics may be used to understand general website activity and performance. Reports may include visits, page views, popular pages, referring websites, approximate country and general device or browser information. We use these statistics to improve the website, not to create individual advertising profiles.
7. Google Translate
The website uses Google Translate. When this feature loads or is used, your browser may communicate with Google, which may process technical information under its own privacy terms. Automatic translations can be inaccurate; consult the original English content when exact meaning matters.
8. Embedded YouTube content
The Entertainment page may contain embedded YouTube videos. When a video loads or plays, YouTube or Google may process information about the visitor’s browser, device, IP address and interaction with the video, according to their own policies.
9. External websites and social media
The website links to services such as X, TikTok, YouTube and WhatsApp. Once you follow an external link, that provider’s privacy policy, cookies and terms apply. Rwanda Freedom of Speech does not control the privacy or security practices of those services.
10. Email and voluntary support
Email is not always completely secure. The public website does not directly collect card, bank or mobile-money credentials. Never send banking passwords, PINs or security codes. Any external payment provider processes information under its own terms.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
Rwanda Freedom of Speech does not currently operate visitor-account cookies, advertising cookies or behavioural-marketing systems. Third-party features such as YouTube or Google Translate may use cookies or similar technologies. Browser settings may allow you to block or delete them, although some features may then work differently.
12. Legal purposes and retention
Information may be processed to answer your request, operate and protect the website, meet legal obligations, or establish, exercise or defend legal rights. It is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
13. Sharing and international processing
Information may be shared only where reasonably necessary with hosting, security, email, communication or payment providers, professional advisers, or competent authorities where legally required. Cloudflare, Google and social-media providers may process data in countries different from yours.
14. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, to withdraw consent where relevant, and to complain to an appropriate data-protection authority. Requests may be sent to info@rwandafreedomofspeech.com. Identity verification may be required before information is disclosed or changed.
15. Children’s privacy
The website is intended for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Children should not send private contact, financial or identity information without appropriate permission and supervision.
16. Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used, including HTTPS, Cloudflare security services, restricted deployment access and multifactor authentication. No website or communication method can be guaranteed completely secure.
17. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the website, applicable requirements or third-party services change. The latest version will appear here with a revised effective date.
